6016 Theme Suggestions

Here are 6016 Suggestions, based on themes used in past Herff Jones yearbooks    Link 1   or   Link 2

General Information

The yearbook will be created in two parts.

The first part will be the main yearbook, 144 pages long, all 144 pages in colour, by the middle of April for distribution in mid-June.

The second part will be a 32 page insert, all colour, for May and June sports, arts and events, completed by the end of June for distribution in September.

The Yearbook Class will commence in February, Semester 2. But to ensure the main yearbook is completed by the end of April, we will be starting a Yearbook Club now, consisting of interested students from any grade level, as well as students in the semester 2 yearbook class who wish to join us.

Mr. Ross Atkinson is our representative from Herff Jones, the company which is our yearbook provider. He is based in Toronto, while our yearbook is produced and printed in Kansas City.

Normally, the yearbook Theme, the Front Cover, and the Templates and Fonts used would be selected by the class in the first week of semester 2. Because we are having a spring delivery of our yearbook, the Front Cover is due in October. We are thus beginning work now in Semester 1, and discussing and selecting those items now.

Suggest a Theme. Be creative, and don't censor yourself too much.

Select the Theme from the list, if there's one you like, but try to rework it to apply to our school.

Discuss the Front Cover / Back Cover and decide how it will be created, and who will do it. It needs to be done by October 31.

Select a consistent Text Font for all written text in the yearbook, and a
Headings Font (or possibly a variety of fonts) for titles and sub-titles.

Suggest content topics or events you think could be included.

Discuss the yearbook organization.
Some use thematic sections, such as Attitude, Places and Life
Some use functional sections, such as Clubs, Activities, Sports, Arts, Portraits
Some use alternative words for the functions, such as Live, Participate, Learn, Compete, Graduate
Some use seasons, Fall, Winter and Spring
